Community Building

*
As much as we love and are frustrated by moving to Hoquiam and the slow construction, we are haunted by the "what-ifs". If we had stayed a bit longer, we coulda hooked up with Freeway Blogger. If we had stayed, the buses would run every 6 minutes! The school across the valley, would become an awesome museum, that attracts authors and important speakers to the neighborhood! That nasty smelly Goodwill I've been shopping at for 28 years? Re-developed! The seldom noticed fruit stands I love? Just drive right on past. There's going to be a Target on Dearborn! a-a-And, then we can move the car over to the other end of the parking lot so's we can go to the other stores. Yeah, walkable neighborhoods.

Welcome to Seattle! It looks just like Scottsdale!

We'll come back and visit, but the neighbors have left the neighborhood.

*if you look way over in the left corner, you woulda seen our roof, before it was bulldozed for 4 cute Bungalows!

And here is community:
Here Comes the Rain Again. We thought it would be tomorrow. Went over to the 101 bar across the street to ask for help, and Dennis volunteered. Then, his Mama heard about it, and came over to get shit done. you rawk Barrie! Gonna be checking in with those guys much more.

There are going to be good things going on, and there are always going to be nasty, awful changes. Enjoy Hoquiam, remembering that you don't have the gangsta problem out your back door, that you probably won't be getting a lot of "bad air" warnings, that it won't take you 45 minutes to drive 20 miles in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Those things never really stop.

The rest is just cosmetic.
