On the way to Hoquiam
We needed to stop in Montesano and pay the nice gent who had mowed the yard for us. I found him through an online search of the Hoquiam newspaper. I explained we were driving vanloads down, but couldn't meet him until today. He went ahead and mowed it even before we could pay him. Montesano is a lovely town, it's the County Seat and has a beautiful Courthouse.
We called Michael from the freeway exit and he gave us directions that were a bit garbled by the cell phone's reception. We went too far and had to call back for more directions when that road suddenly became the entrance to a state park. I laughed and said "This is an adventure!" Michael said something else and I chuckled and hung up and told Dan: "I think he just said it'll be a bigger adventure, he just let his Zebra out."
He really does have a Zebra! Her name is Julia and she is very sweet. I got to scratch her forehead and she chuffed at me. Zebras smell you through their mouth so she was just being friendly. She gives his grandkids pony rides. Imagine those kids' show-n-tell days!
Julia has a companion miniature donkey who snubbed us, and as Michael says, is a mean little Somsabitch!
