We did research things before we moved out here, and Grays Harbor has a Blue history. It really has been a very friendly town, until last night. Republithug signs seemed to dominate early on, especially on local businesses. We were, by our count the second Obama sign in the Twin Harbor back in June. Incumbent Dem Gov and House signs showed up late.
We've gotten favorable comments on our buttons and tee-shirts, and several Trick or Treaters complimented the Barack O'Lantern. And then, coming back from the grocery store we saw this. The sign had been flanked by the local Democratic contenders, and all were fine yesterday afternoon, but they were gone today and this was left alone. Perhaps the folks want to expose this ugliness. I'd get more worked up about the stupidity and ignorance if it hadn't been a day late and a dollar short.
And, this is the best you can do?

Has the earmarks of a sore loser. They will get over it!
You can't stop stupid. But I agree with Deborah, it looks like sour grapes. Don't let it get you down, Sweetie! The good guys won!
Greetings Deborah! I agree with you and Fran. I really can't get het up about it all, because it's just so dumb.
And I'm too happy about the elections to let anything bum me out just now.
I know it was a rhetorical question but, yes, this really is the best they can do. The GOP ran out of ideas when Newt Gingrich decided to put party before country. The McPalin catch-phrase "Country First" was as false and misleading as most of their campaign.
It's almost too bad this happened AFTER the election. If it had happened before, I would be tempted to put up another sign beside it, saying "BECAUSE OF THE VANDALISM TO THIS SIGN, _____________ PATRIOTIC PEOPLE HAVE EACH DONATED AT LEAST $25 to the Obama Campaign"
I bet that would get their goiter, and turn a negative thing into a lesson in not only NOT stooping to their level but also still rubbing their noses in it in a neener- neener delightful way.
