I was dismayed to see this re-surface last week. And then,my inside source stopped by and said "The Goldman's have the rights to the book, and they will publish it, and why was it so wrong for OJ, but not for them? Because they will establish a charity and "portions" will go to the Goldman Family Foundation."
UPDATE Sunday Aug 19: Is Publishing the Sweetest Revenge?

There's no problem in this being published. Or for anyone making any dough off of it. The problem will be people actually buying this garbage. Let's hope very few do!

Yeah, it's an odd thing legally speaking. If O.J. had been found guilty he would have been barred from making any profits on the book. SInce he was found "not guilty" (note that he was not found "innocent," for what it's worth), he would not otherwise be barred from profiting from the book. However, since the Goldman family won a huge civil judgment when they sued O.J., they were able to attach the rights to the book the way you can attach, or lien, any asset when you obtain a judgment against a defendant in a civil case.
So it's a double edged sword, really. If the book sells, the Goldman family will be able to collect on their judgment, whereas if it doesn't sell they'll collect little. Yet I can't help but agree with Mr. Olsen - somehow the thought of people buying this crap makes my stomach turn.
Then again, a lot of things make my stomach turn these days.
Cheers,
Dave
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Y'know, on one of The Shitty-uation Room's little trivia questions the other day, Wolfie or Jack asked, "Has the U.S. gone the way of the Roman Empire, and if so, how do we get back?"
Yeah, this makes Caligula look like a RANK FUCKING AMATEUR.
What kills me is how they love to talk about the "fall" of the Roman empire, but they never mention that it was THE CHRISTIANS WHO DID IT!!!!!!!!! Heh.
and they're going to rename it "Confessions of a Murder"
*flummoxed*
No. Really?
No. Just no.
