I thought I was aware of all internets traditions.

One of my favorite blogs is P.Z. Meyer's unpronounceable Pharyngula. It's all science-y and I usually learn something from P.Z. whenever I read it. But today, I learned something from one of his commenters, E.V.

Turns out, it is a well known internets tradition to get nakie when taking a picture of something shiny.
'sTrue! Snopes even says so! Who knew?

Congrats on being awarded that shiny phallic symbol P.Z. (most likely for something all science-y humanist).

But please, get nakie next time you take a picture, P.Z.

nakie?
harumph!
As a professional language-fixing type person (oh, if only there was a proper term for that - I mean other than "pedantic jackass") I'm afraid it is my sworn duty to point out that the appropriate spelling is "nekkid"

So, what’s the idea here? Is the object to show your nekkid reflection in the shiny object? Ewww.

And why did I say “object” twice in the same sentence, anyway?
